status.forsale is operated by Daniel Lawson, a sole proprietor in the United Kingdom. Full operator and postal details are in the legal notice.

Payments and ownership.

Placements are offered for business advertising. By purchasing, you confirm that you are acting for business purposes and are authorised to place the advert for the named company.

A claim purchases an advert placement for the amount shown in US dollars at checkout. Card details are entered on Dodo’s hosted checkout and the advert is published only after Dodo confirms payment. Nothing here transfers ownership of an HTTP status code, specification or standard.

Review the advert and amount before paying. A completed placement is a digital advertising service that begins as soon as payment is confirmed. If a payment is refunded, disputed, reversed or cannot be matched safely, the placement may be held or removed while it is reviewed. This does not affect rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Claims and takeovers.

An available code starts with a displayed value of $10. A takeover must be $5 above its current total. Review the amount shown before confirming; if someone claims it first, you must review the updated amount.

Your advert remains until another claim takes its place, unless it is removed or the service is reset. There is no minimum display time, visitor count, click count or guaranteed outcome.

Previous confirmed payments can count towards reclaiming the same code for the same verified buyer and website domain. Credit is applied only to a future eligible claim. It has no cash value and cannot be withdrawn or transferred.

Your advert. Your responsibility.

Submit only content you are authorised to use on behalf of the company. Check imported details before confirming. You must have the necessary rights to the name, logo, text and linked website.

Do not submit unlawful, misleading, impersonating or infringing content, private information, malware or deceptive links. Do not interfere with the site or other users’ claims.

You retain your rights in your content. By submitting it, you give the operator permission to host, reproduce, resize and display it in the site’s adverts, activity and history, diagnostic responses and share images. These features can keep showing earlier claims after a takeover. Cached share images may remain after a change, as explained in the privacy policy.

The operator may remove content or restrict use where needed to address misuse or rights complaints. To report an advert or request its removal, contact hello@status.forsale with the code, URL and reason.

Reference information and other websites.

HTTP explanations are plain-language summaries. Use the linked official specifications for authoritative protocol behaviour. The response tester is a development aid and deliberately returns error statuses when requested.

This is an independent project, not an IANA or IETF service. Company adverts and external links are not endorsements. Third-party websites are responsible for their own services and terms.

The service may be unavailable, changed or reset. Do not rely on it for a production dependency or time-critical service. Nothing in these terms removes rights or liabilities that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.

Changes and contact.
